Behind the Work

"The art of weaving has been a craftsmanship I've admired for most of my life. The repetition of various threads that are braided together is such a therapeutic and peaceful action. I wanted to take my skill as a textile designer and mimic the art form to create a two-dimensional replica of a woven basket. I truly loved working on this print, as I was able to bring one of my favourite crafts into a new context."

"The textile pot can be used for many purposes. It's the perfect size for craft materials, a toothbrush and toothpaste or as a planter for small succulents and herbs. I find that the small textile pots are also a perfect accompaniment to home ceramics and decorative pieces.  The flexible quality of the fabric as well as the versatility of the pattern makes it possible to play with the shape and expression of the pot. It even works folded halfway down to expose the different variations of the pattern. It's one of those items that leaves me infinitely inspired."
