"A Scale in Infinite Regression" Print, Charles Simmonds

from £60.00

Behind the Work

"Infinite regression is the philosophical idea that states the universe was born from the collapse of another and so on and so on, into infinity. It’s like standing between two parallel mirrors with just an endless curve fading out of view. This idea, along with the concept of scale, really excites me, the idea that size becomes obsolete. It’s a continuum, in which proportion is ultimately unchanging and this essentially can go on indefinitely. This artwork is the aesthetic melding of these concepts in both philosophy and astrophysics."

Charles Simmonds, “A Scale in Infinite Regression”. 2018. Mixed Media.
