"This drawing is part of an ongoing initiative to draw more cis men, subjects who are not usually protagonist in my works. I made an open call on my personal social media account asking for male models. I´m interested in this form of collaboration from afar with non professional models (for most of them this is their first time ever posing), because they usually express rawness and tend to doubt they´re interesting enough to be drawn. There´s a sense of shyness and vulnerability that I´m looking for that they deliver just perfectly.
This piece reflects the feeling of the constant self-evaluation and deep introspection felt by the unusual times of COVID-19 lockdown -for those privileged enough to live this global crisis in another way than in a constant state of emergency- when our sense of space has been reduced to what feels like nothing and we’re unable to cope with our own thoughts whispering in our ears. "
