“This design was inspired by a wonderful life drawing teacher from the Royal College of Art in London. During these classes we would work on a grid, drawing a pose every 10-30 seconds. This intense way of working meant that each line had to be able to evoke as much as possible. This exercise in distilling a complex image was fascinating and is something which still inspires our work today.”

“Rule was created as part of a larger project which explored the juxtaposition between a grid and a hand drawn, repeated mark. During this project, I explored how a line or a mark can be created in many different ways by using a series of tools and mediums to create spontaneous, non repeating patterns. At this time, I was also becoming fascinated by old sci-fi films and contemporary deep-space photography - how planets seem so hazy and distant. This made me think about how a grid could also be seen as a sort of comic strip, depicting time like an animation.”

- Care: Hand wash gently with a mild detergent or dry clean. Iron on the reverse only.
