“I love working with enigmatic subject matter when taking pictures of people. I like to create the illusion of misperception. Here it’s difficult to figure out how many people are actually involved, who they are or what’s their story. By adding the element of water, it allows me to create a reflection of their hands, almost like a meditative, intimate game.”

Behind the Work

“In my photography, I enjoy capturing the connectivity between two people through abstractive forms. In this particular photograph, I was trying to find a way to represent the tender and smooth touch of skin against skin. I experimented with various objects and materials, which led me to the seductive properties of whipped cream - both literally and figuratively. The grooves and shadows create such an alluring contact.”
